Alexandria Community School Corporation placed a question on the May 8th, 2019 ballot, asking Alexandria residents to pass a school construction project referendum. The community showed up on Election day and passed the referendum!
As the sun rose the next morning, our school corporation was already fast at work. After interviewing architecture firms, the school board selected the firm Fanning Howey out of Indianapolis. This firms longstanding focus is on school design, modern classroom layout, and safety. This shone a spotlight on what Fanning Howey could bring to the project to enrich student's learning. Over the past several months there have been countless meetings with leadership teams, administration, and staff to ensure that all the needs within the school have been thought of while still working within the budget of the referendums $19,280,000.00.
Alexandria Community School Corporation along with the School Board will continue to inform the residents of Alexandria on the progress of the building project. The Board of Education, Alexandria Community School Corporation, Alexandria, Indiana will receive sealed bids for the Additions and Renovations to Alexandria-Monroe Intermediate School and Additions and Renovations to Alexandria-Monroe Jr/Sr. High School.
