Food, families, books, and popsicles! It was wonderful to see our families and students at the Tiger Food Pantry and AMES Bookmobile yesterday evening! 😀 Special thank you to our dedicated volunteers for donating their time to support our families.

There will be a Tiger Food Pantry tomorrow, Wednesday, June 11 at the elementary school at 4 PM. Also, the Bookmobile will be open during this time.

We've had a fantastic beginning to the week in summer school, emphasizing vocabulary growth, journaling based on observations, collaboration, reading comprehension, vowel blends, and fun! We're excited to see our Tigers again tomorrow. A number of students are earning rewards for their remarkable effort already this week! 😀📚

This week, Mrs. Goodman's PreK Class discovered dinosaurs by reading books, finding their fossil bones in sand, excavating a fossil and painting a plastic dinosaur.

Mission Book Drop: We are so thankful for our students and families! We have dropped off FREE books for our students throughout Alexandria! Here are some clues where the books have been dropped off. We hope you enjoy these books over Summer Break. Happy Reading, Tigers! 😀🐅

Principal Trinity nailed it as Principal for the Day, swinging by classrooms, lending a helping hand to teachers, keeping an eye on students, and celebrating our students of the month. She also passed out Tiger Bucks, gave rewards, wrote thoughtful notes to teachers, and celebrated with our PreK students at their awards ceremony. Thanks for a fantastic day, Principal Trinity! We're super proud of Trinity for making such a positive impact on our students. 🐅

The Great EGG Drop! Will the egg survive the drop? Fifth-grade students designed special egg drop containers to protect their egg, applying problem-solving, collaboration, creativity, and teamwork to these designs. Go, Tigers!

Kindergarten ABC countdown! The letter S is for Starbooks/Starbucks. The children were at our “coffee shop” reading books and writing/drawing book reviews. They wrote the title and author of their chosen books, colored in smile faces based of their rating, and drew their favorite part of the book. While reading, the kindergartners were called over to the “counter” to order their drink and treat. 📚😀

This week, our future 6th Grade Band had a chance to explore different instruments at Sweetwater with Ms. VanHook and Mrs. Langlie-Lesnik!

AMES FUN Fest was an outstanding success! We had an amazing lineup of inflatables, games, prizes, an auction, food trucks, and loads of laughter and smiles! Thank you to our dedicated AMES staff and parent volunteers for their invaluable support. We appreciate you!
