Happy Holidays, Alexandria-Monroe Elementary Families! As we head into the month of December, we’re excited to continue one of our favorite traditions, December Dress-Up Days! Each school day will have a fun theme for students to celebrate the season.
Participation is completely optional. It’s simply a fun way to spread joy and school spirit throughout the month. Below you’ll find our December Dress-Up Calendar for anyone who would like to join in. We can’t wait to see all the creativity and festive cheer!
Our AMES Second Grade Team celebrated the end of their 15 day challenge working on main idea and supporting details with a “Glow Day”! These students have been working hard to grow and glow with their reading skills! Awesome job, Second Grade!
A huge thank you to our students and families for their incredible thoughtfulness and kindness! 💛 Our classes came together bringing in all the items needed to provide a Thanksgiving meal for a family in our community. We are so proud of our amazing students and their generous hearts! As a special thank you, we celebrated with bounce house parties and it was a blast! 🫶
Let’s go, Tiger Readers! Thanks to Conner, Stella, and Brody for kicking off our Friday athlete Tiger Readers. They had a great time reading to the students and helping in specials classes! Remember to turn in those forms by Tuesday so you can earn a prize. If they are turned in after Tuesday they won’t count!!

Thank you to all the families who joined us for our Preparing Kids for Success workshop on Thursday. We loved spending time with your children, playing games, doing crafts, and creating artwork while parents learned strategies to support their child’s dreams, school attendance, self-discipline, and overall success. We appreciate our Tiger families and the strong support you bring to our school community.
A huge thank you to our amazing nurse, Amber Waymire, for organizing a special event our students in need of warm coats for the winter months. Nurse Amber has been working tirelessly behind the scenes, gathering student feedback, coordinating details, and creating a fun and welcoming experience for our students and families. We are so lucky to have Nurse Amber as part of our school community! A special shoutout as well to the entire Waymire family for stepping in as wonderful helpers this evening.

Today, our students had the wonderful opportunity to honor and spend time with our veterans during our Veterans Day program. They sang beautifully, showed great respect during the silent dismissal, and truly embodied the Tiger spirit as we recognized those who have served and those who continue to serve our country. We are so proud of our Tigers for their respect, gratitude, and enthusiasm today! ❤️🤍💙

AMES fun at the Tiger Trot! 🐯 Our Tigers enjoyed a wonderful day on the track with their friends during this year’s Tiger Trot! With sunshine, a breeze, and lots of smiles, it was the perfect fall day to celebrate teamwork and school spirit. A big thank-you to our amazing special area teachers for their support throughout the day, and to our parent volunteers for helping make the Tiger Trot extra special for our students. We appreciate you! 😁
Pumpkin Day in Kindergarten! 🎃
Mrs. Clabaugh’s kindergarten students had a pumpkin-tastic day of learning and fun! They read and listened to pumpkin stories, learned all about the parts of a pumpkin and its life cycle, and even got our hands messy exploring the pulp and seeds.The students helped count the seeds, designed their very own jack-o’-lantern faces, and worked together to carve our class pumpkin. What a wonderful way to celebrate fall and hands-on learning! 🍂✨
Exciting Science in Mr. Martin’s Fourth Grade! Mr. Martin’s class has started a new project all about eggs! Over the next 10 days, students will be observing and studying the development process to see what changes happen inside the eggs. We can’t wait to learn, explore, and see what hatches from our hard work and curiosity! 🐥 Stay tuned for updates from our scientists!
Creative Stations in PreK Art! Our PreK artists have been busy exploring their creativity today! At the Creative Stations, students experimented with drawing, using stencils, dominos, puzzles and building blocks as they tried out new ideas and worked together. Their imaginations truly shined! 🖍️🧩🎃
